6. Enter Master Keys

On the Main Menu, press 7 (Key Management). View screen

Change secure passwords. On initial setup, the system requires secure passwords to be changed for Master Keys. Press ENTER at the prompt ( view prompt), then follow the process for changing passwords according to the type of keypad.

Click to select your type of keypad:

• T7 PCI EPP or VEPP SP-06 (or higher)

  A.  Press 4 (Set Passwords). View screen   All other options are inactive until the secure passwords have been changed from their default setting.

  B.  Enter default password (000000) for User 1, and press ENTER. View screen

  C.  Enter default password (000000) for User 2, and press ENTER. View screen

  D.  Press 1 (Change User 1 Password). View screen

  E.  Enter new password for user, and press ENTER. View screen The password must be between 6-14 numeric digits. NOTE: Some hosts may provide the passwords for User 1 and User 2.

  F.  Re-enter new password to confirm, and press ENTER. View screen

  G.  Press 2 (Change User 2 Password) and repeat steps E-G for User 2. View screens

• T5 PCI EPP (heated unit with metal keys)

  A.  Press 4 (Set Passwords). View screen Until passwords are set, all other options on this menu except Update EPP Firmware are inactive.

  B.  Press 1 (Set User 1 Password). View screen

  C.  Enter password for the user, and press ENTER. View screen On the T5 EPP, the password must be between 8-16 numeric digits. NOTE: Some hosts may provide the passwords for User 1 and User 2.

  D.  Re-enter the password for the user to confirm, and press ENTER. View screen

  E.  Press 2 (Set User 2 Password) and repeat steps C-D for User 2. View screens

On the Key Management screen, press 1 (Enter Master Keys). View screen

Enter User 1 password, and press ENTER. View screen

Enter User 2 password, and press ENTER. View screen

Press 2 (Enter PIN Master Key). View screen  (For MAC key entry, press 1.)

Press ENTER to select the default setting of New Key. View screen

Enter PIN Master Key part A using the function keys and keypad schema shown on screen. View screen

Press F7 (Enter) when all of the Master Key part is entered.

Verify the check digits match those provided by the Host Processor for this part of the Master Key. If a match, press ENTER. View screen

Press ENTER when prompted to add part to existing key. View screen

Repeat steps 8-11 for part B of the Master Key.

Press ENTER when successful. View screen

Press CANCEL and proceed to Download Working Keys.
